Short version: your notes stay on your device. The only data Pulp sends over the network is the content you choose to process with AI, and we do not track you with analytics. No accounts, no profiles, no third-party trackers.
Data we store on your device
- Notes you capture (text, audio recordings, images, files) live in the app's local storage.
- Reminder schedules live in iOS Notifications and, if you opt in, Apple Reminders.
- Settings, sort preferences, and your free-trial timer live in iCloud Key-Value Store so they survive a reinstall.
Data we send to AI providers
When you capture a voice note, photo, file, or use Ask AI, the captured content is sent to Pulp's bundled AI provider for processing. That includes the audio bytes for transcription, the image bytes for OCR, or the text for splitting into atomic notes. The provider sees the content for the duration of the request and is contractually prohibited from training models on it. Responses come back to the app and are stored only on your device.
If you are on Pulp Pro Lifetime and you bring your own API key, processing routes through the provider you configure. In that case the key is stored in iOS Keychain and never leaves your device except as part of the requests it authorizes.
What we do not collect
- No analytics, no telemetry, no event tracking.
- No third-party SDKs that fingerprint you.
- No advertising identifiers.
- No crash reports tied to identifiers beyond Apple's standard, opt-in iOS crash reporting.
Subscriptions and purchases
If you subscribe to Pulp Pro, Apple processes the transaction. We use RevenueCat to verify and track entitlement state. RevenueCat receives a randomized identifier tied to your purchase, not personal information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details on their side.
Your controls
- Delete a single note: long-press the card and tap Delete.
- Delete everything: Settings, Data, Delete all notes. This removes notes plus any local audio, photos, or files.
- Cancel a subscription: iOS Settings, your Apple ID, Subscriptions.
- Revoke AI access: remove your key in Settings, or set the device offline. AI features simply stop working, captures still save.
Children
Pulp is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone in that age range. If a parent or guardian believes their child has used Pulp in a way that requires deletion, email us and we'll handle it the same day.
Changes
If we change this policy, the "Last updated" date above will move and a note will appear in the app's Settings on next launch. Material changes get a more visible heads-up.
